La sociedad occidental moderna sufre constantes acusaciones sobre sus tendencias hacia el consumismo obsesivo, sus ufanas demostraciones de poderío económico y el alarde insaciable de ser (desde la mera apariencia más vana y superficial) mejor que los demás, ya sea porque su coche ruge como los caballos del Apocalipsis, su casa es digna de la portada del Architects' Digest o sus viajes son los más codiciados por todos los touroperadores del mundo.
En este mismo espacio en el que nos encontramos, nuestro fotolog, a veces me parece percibir un afán de competitividad algo "malsano", tratando de medirse unos con otros por ver quién es el mejor fotógrafo, el mejor escritor, el más "famosillo" y tantos otros "mejores" que me da pereza enumerarlos.
Sin embargo, cuando tomé estas imágenes... mientras las veía a través del visor, tuve la certeza de que este mal nuestro no es tan nuestro, sino que nos viene heredado de las generaciones pasadas, que el ser humano siempre ha necesitado mostrar, en sus manifestaciones más diversas, que es el pavo más vistoso de todo el jardín.
Sinceramente, no creo que esto cambie, pero deberíamos hacérnoslo mirar...

However, when I took these pictures ... as I watched through the viewfinder, I was sure that this is not so bad our ours, but comes to us a legacy of the generations
past, that human beings have always needed to show, in its most diverse, which is the most colorful turkey around the garden.
I honestly don't think this will change, but we should let us look ...
