beginning all over again

she will never dance again,
after the memory of that evening.
the steps will die away
but that mazurka, eyes in the eyes,
will be danced forever in her heart.
for all the time that she has left to live.
and maybe even after.
like a lighthouse, showing her the way
to find him again
in an ocean of darkness.
